LEWISBURG W.Va. (WVDN) — Carnegie Hall is pleased to present a special day of hands-on workshops on Saturday, Dec. 13, inviting community members of all ages to explore the joy of making and the artistry of traditional crafts. From stained glass and leatherwork to felting, paper quilling, and wreath-making, this Holiday Workshop Series offers a rich variety of creative experiences designed to inspire and delight.
The day begins with Stained Glass 3D Hanging Ivy Basket (9 a.m.–1 p.m.), led by instructor Lynda Weischowsky, where participants will construct elegant glass vines using layered assembly, wire wrapping, and decorative soldering. At 10 a.m., two workshops run concurrently: Custom Leather Cell Phone Cases with Luke Davis, an Appalachian Heritage Craft class that teaches the art of leatherwork through functional design, and Snow Day! Ornament Felting with Harmony Flora, a family-friendly session creating whimsical snowman and star ornaments. Also, at 10 a.m., instructor Teri Hartford leads Paper Quilled Winter Ornaments, guiding participants through the delicate art of rolling and shaping paper into intricate snowflakes and wreaths. The day concludes with Evergreen Door Wreaths (1–3 p.m.), taught by Adrienne Cedarleaf, where students will craft fresh wreaths from locally sourced evergreens and natural accents.
Workshops are open to ages 10 and above (with some classes welcoming younger participants), and all materials are provided. Class sizes are intentionally small to ensure personalized instruction, with costs ranging from $12 to $105, and scholarships available for several sessions thanks to the support of community partners.
Carnegie Hall is proud to offer this festive day of workshops as part of its mission to foster creativity, preserve heritage crafts, and bring people together through the arts. Registration is now open, and space is limited — reserve your place in the Holiday Workshop Series today.
