CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WVDN) – State Treasurer Larry Pack today announced the winning bid amount from the November online firearms auction was $52,500 placed from a federal firearm licensed dealer in Georgia. This was the Office’s fifth online firearms auction held in 2025.

More than 16 bids were submitted from licensed dealers spanning across five states. There were 422 firearms sold from the Huntington Police Department that were up for bid.

“I am thrilled to return this money that will help the Huntington Police Department better serve their community,” Treasurer Pack said. “The firearms that were sold during our last online auction include weapons that are older and no longer used by a department, or that have been seized as evidence and sitting in storage rooms for an extended amount of time. These funds will greatly benefit their operations. My Office is excited to continue to hold these online auctions to help modernize our Unclaimed Property Program.”

So far in 2025, the Treasurer’s Office has sold 2,347 firearms for a total of $452,073 from one in-person live auction and five online auctions. Winning bids came from federal licensed firearms dealers in Pennsylvania, Tennessee, West Virginia, and Georgia.

More information about State Treasurer’s Office’s firearms auctions is available at www.wvtreasury.gov/FFL-Auction.
