Rodena Faye Mentz Belcher

Rodena Faye Mentz Belcher, age 63, of Caldwell, WV, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at the Peyton Hospice House, after a lengthy battle with cancer.

Born on January 12, 1962, in White Sulphur Springs, WV, she was the beloved daughter of the late Harvey Washington Mentz and Shirley Ann Dowdy Mentz.

Rodena was a cherished member of the Caldwell Pentecostal Holiness Church, where her presence was felt in many ways. She played an instrumental role as the pianist, taught Sunday school, and passionately contributed to the children’s ministry and vacation Bible school. Her faith was a guiding light, and she shared it generously with everyone around her.

Rodena’s commitment to education touched countless lives during her career with Greenbrier County Schools, where she served as a teacher until her retirement. Her positive influence extended beyond the classroom, shaping the hearts and minds of students and colleagues alike. She was also a member of the White Sulphur Springs Lions Club.

Rodena was preceded in death by her parents; and an infant brother, Harvey Washington Mentz Jr. She is survived by her loving husband of thirty-eight years, Roy E. Belcher; her brother, George Mentz; her sister, Junelle (Shaffick) Khan; several nieces, nephews, and a wide circle of friends, who will miss her dearly.

Rodena’s legacy is defined by her kindness, unwavering faith, and dedication to helping others. She will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her musical gifts, and her caring heart. Her memory will continue to inspire all who knew her.

Funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon, Monday, December 1, 2025, at the Morgan Funeral Home Chapel, Lewisburg, WV, with Pastor Michael Neel officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow the service in the Dowdy Cemetery, Glace, WV.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations of sympathy be made to the Caldwell Pentecostal Holiness Church – 35611 Midland Trail, Caldwell, WV 24925.

Online guestbook can be signed at www.morganfh.net.
