RONCEVERTE W.Va. (WVDN) – During this Christmas season, the Ronceverte Baptist Church (RBC) would like to invite the community to join them for some special events: a Phillips and Banks concert, a Christmas cantata, a Candlelight Service and our regular Sunday services at 11 a.m., especially if you do not have a church home.
On Friday, Dec. 5, at 7 p.m., there will be a Christmas concert featuring the progressive southern gospel group Phillips and Banks. Married couples, Jacob and Carmen Phillips and Caleb and Autumn Banks, bring a distinctive and smooth sound to their music, which includes acapella numbers, novelty Christmas songs, traditional carols and southern gospel selections.
On Sunday morning at 11, the RBC choir will present a cantata entitled The Heart of Heaven. Directed by Sally Parker and narrated by Pastor Ken Hawes, the choir members include Artie Barker, Rhonda Childers, Janice Deem, Courtney Elmore, Seth Elmore, Ken Hawes, Michelle Jones, Tom Moretz, Bryan Morgan, Susan Morgan, Shelden Mullens, Katrina Rutherford, Dreama West, Karen West and Angel Williams. Soloists are Courtney and Seth Elmore. The choir will perform the cantata again on Tuesday, Dec. 9, at 7 p.m.
And on Christmas Eve, there will be a candlelight service beginning at 5:30 p.m.
Pastor Ken Hawes and the congregation invite all to attend these services. The church is located at the corner of Main Street and Locust Street.
