Larry Thomas Lilly

Larry Thomas Lilly, 82, of Lewisburg, WV, formerly of Mullins, WV, passed away on November 24, 2025, at the Lewisburg Healthcare Center with his family by his side.

He was born January 5, 1943, in Winamac, IN, and was the son of the late Roy G. and Bettye Maas Lilly.

Larry was known for his deep love of God, church, family, and country; he was meticulous in all things, possessed of a kind, gentle, loving, and helpful nature, and always putting others before himself.

Larry was a graduate of Mullins High School; Concord College, BS 1967 Advertising Design, Commercial Arts, and a member of Phi Alpha Chi, Phi Beta Lambda, Circle K Club, Drama Club, Art Club, Student Govt Association, Interreligious Council, and Baptist Student Fellowship. Before and during college, he was employed by the West Virginia State Roads Commission and G.C. Murphy Company, then for 34 years in US government national security as a graphics and imagery analyst within the Central Intelligence Agency, Washington, DC, (1967-1978) and the Foreign Science and Technology Center, Charlottesville, VA (1978-2002).

He was very active in his service in the church as a Deacon, choir member, Sunday School teacher, youth worker, and Bible Study Leader in three churches over nearly 60 years (Hillandale Baptist Church, Free Union Baptist Church, and First Baptist Church Fairlea). He volunteered in the Lewisburg Lions Club and National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association (NARFE); and enjoyed nature walks, yardwork, fishing, reading, and spending time with his family.

Larry is survived by his loving wife of over 60 years, Beulah Mae Elder Lilly; daughter, Lisa Finley (husband, James) of Griswold, CT; son, Stephen Lilly of Salem, OR; grandsons, Jonathan Finley of Seattle, WA, Samuel Finley (wife, Madison) of Canterbury, CT, James Finley (wife, Veronica) of Lisbon, CT; great-granddaughters, Sadie Mae Finley (18 months), Avery Anne Finley (1 month); brother, Terry Gene Lilly (wife, Jane) of Barboursville, VA; multiple nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mr. Lilly will be held Friday, November 28, 2025, at 1:30 p.m. at the Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Lewisburg. Interment will follow at Greenbrier Memorial Gardens, Lewisburg.

The family will receive family and friends on Friday, November 28, 2025, from 12:30 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Food Pantry (care of F. B. C., Fairlea), and the Parkinsons Foundation (www.parkinson.org).
