BEAVER, W.Va. (WVDN) — New River Community and Technical College and Concord University renewed their existing memorandum of understanding yesterday at New River CTC’s Raleigh County Campus, reaffirming their commitment to creating seamless transfer opportunities for students.
The updated agreement was signed by Dr. Bonny Copenhaver, President of New River CTC, and Dr. Bethany Meighen, President of Concord University. This re-signing strengthens the established partnership between the two institutions, continuing to provide guaranteed admission for New River CTC graduates with associate degrees into bachelor’s programs at Concord University. It also ensures that credits earned at New River CTC will transfer, offering students confidence that their academic work will count toward completing a four-year degree.
“This renewed agreement continues to open doors for our students by giving them direct pathways to bachelor’s degrees,” said Copenhaver. “It builds on the strong foundation they’ve created at New River and ensures they can move forward with confidence, knowing the work they’ve already accomplished will count toward their future goals.”
Copenhaver also emphasized the value of the continued partnership with Concord University. “By reaffirming our commitment to working together, we’re expanding opportunities across the region and strengthening the higher education pipeline for West Virginia students.”
