GREENBRIER COUNTY W.Va. (WVDN) – On November 10, the Greenbrier County Commission met in regular session.
The generator maintenance bid came in at $4,950 from Greenbrier Technologies and Electric, located in Lewisburg. Their emergency response rate is $90 per hour and $0.70 per mile.
Amanda Smith was on hand to discuss the Greenbrier County gig-ready project. City Net had an invoice for $149,138.72. TIF funds pay $37,284.69. Matching grants are responsible for $111,854.03. These amounts include make-ready work. Smith advised that the state wasn’t caught up on reimbursement, so Commissioner Ritchie Holliday voted to pay the full amount and wait on the 75% reimbursement so the project wouldn’t be delayed.
Cassie Lawson brought before the Commission the White Sulphur Springs wastewater disinfection and treatment project, one invoice to the contractor for $1,150.50. This is from TIF funds.
Lawson also asked the Commission to reimburse the City of White Sulphur for a DOH bond of $1,000. This is for the Maple Dale storage tank project. The commission also gave permission for White Sulphur Springs to advertise for bids on the Maple Dale storage tank project. This will up the pressure on 92.
Also on the agenda for White Sulphur Springs was the Ridges project. Brandon, the engineer for the project, was on hand to discuss the request for $707,748.53. With an additional $37,727. Bringing the total to 745,475.53. This is to get water to the top of the mountain in 2-8 weeks.
Jordan Ross was put on the Greenbrier County Board of PSD number 2 to replace Benny DeMacio. This will take effect on December 31.
All Commission members will now be serving on the arts and recreation reallocation committee, the community corrections committee and the courthouse security committee. Commissioner Lowell Rose will now be on the board of health and economic development, and the Humane Society. Ritchie Holliday will be on airport authority, 4-H extension advisory, the CVB, and the planning commission. Rose and Holiday will serve on the region 1 workforce, the local elected officials board, the emergency 911 advisory board and the farmland advisory board.
