WEST VIRGINIA (WVDN) – Hope in Action Alliance, Inc. (HIAA) is proud to announce the successful completion of the C3 (Community Coalition Cohort) pilot program, a collaborative partnership established with Community Connections, Inc. (CCI). Coalitions from every prevention region in West Virginia participated, designing and implementing local projects grounded in proven prevention strategies while expanding their knowledge through collaborative learning. HIAA coordinated the cohort, with CCI providing funding and subject matter expertise. Counties represented in the first cohort included Barbour, Berkeley, Calhoun, Jefferson, Lincoln, Mingo, Morgan, Nicholas, Summers, Tyler, and Wetzel.

“A few years ago, I had a conversation with CCI’s Executive Director, Greg Puckett, at a conference, and it sparked the idea for this partnership. It’s amazing to see our vision now taking shape, allowing us to provide individualized support and help turn the coalitions’ great ideas into action,” said Mary Newlyn, Executive Director of HIAA.

The graduating cohort will be honored at the Share Your Vision Conference in Huntington on April 16, 2026. Building on this success, C3 plans to offer beginner and advanced tracks, aiming to serve a minimum of 15 coalitions statewide.
