CHARMCO- The Greenbrier West Cavaliers ended their 2025 regular season on an extreme high note with a dominating effort on the ground that resulted in 406 yards and a 55-6 victory over Gilmer County on senior night, Friday, November 7 at Cavalier Field.
The Cavs built a 41-0 halftime lead behind some big plays in the first half.
Ben Butler, who has missed the majority of the season due to injury, came back and picked up where he left off a couple months ago. His first two carries went for 64 yards and two touchdowns as he got his West team going in the right direction. He finished the night with seven carries, 105 yards, and those two scores.
Quarterback Colton Dunbar had four carries for 137 yards including an 88-yard TD run.
Midway through the first half, Cavalier senior Kameron Parker scored on a 14-yard run, his first of his career and something he has wanted all season. Logan Berry, Brenton Hodge, and Scot McClung each had a rushing score as well in the rout.
Shane Plogger also had a 27-yard pick-6.
The Cavaliers (4-6) go into the state playoffs as the 13th-seed and will face Pendleton County in the first round. The day and time will be announced soon.
