MAXWELTON W.Va. (WVDN) – The Maxwelton Ruritan Club enjoyed hosting Morgan Stover from Village Caregiving at their October meeting. Mrs. Stover explained that Village Caregiving is a WV company that has been serving clients all over the US since 2013, but recently opened an office in Lewisburg. Village Caregiving provides home care assistance, including routine housework, cooking, serving and companionship. Mrs. Stover mentioned that their services are covered by some long-term care insurance plans, Medicaid, VA Benefits and private pay. She suggested that if anyone is interested to please call them at 681-293-2720 for a consultation. They are currently serving clients in Greenbrier, Pocahontas, Monroe and Summers County.
The Ruritan members will be planning their Christmas dinner for the month of December and attending the Lower WV District Ruritan convention on Nov. 1 in Speedway. Officers for 2026 were elected and include Bill Zink, President; Cari Nelson, Vice President; Bob Hefner, Treasurer and Debbie Bowman, Secretary. The Board of Directors includes Elizabeth Christie, Brenda Wallace, Gary Wallace, Larry Bowman and Mike Williams, Director Emeritus. The new officers will be installed at the December meeting. A donation of $500 was approved for the local FOP lodge 105 for Shop With A Cop. This organization helps underprivileged children in Greenbrier County and gives the officers an opportunity to interact with the children by taking them shopping to pick out their own Christmas gifts.
The club will meet again on November 20, at 6:30 pm at the Henning Church of God. The Maxwelton Ruritans are currently recruiting new members, so please let us know if you would like to learn about the Ruritan organization and the local Maxwelton Club. We would love to meet you!
