ALDERSON W.Va. (WVDN) – Alderson Volunteer Fire Department and Emergency Medical Services are hosting a Fall Fling Concert on October 25, 2025, from 5-9 p.m. This event will be held at City Park Circle on the senior league ball field. This event is a fundraiser for the AVFD and EMS to support the fire protection and medical services they provide for the community.
The entertainment will be Jack and Davis Reid (grandsons of the Statler Brothers). The performance will include some Statler Brothers classics, songs written by Jack and Davis, and a few gospel songs as well. The local musical group Tupelo Drive will open the show at 5 pm.
Mayor Travis Copenhaver said, “Sometimes you don’t know what you have until you miss it. It is very hard for local fire departments and EMSs to survive today. The required training is many hours long, and the equipment must be updated frequently. We don’t want to be missing these services in Alderson so please come out and support this event.”
The cost of the event is $10 per person. Ages 6-9 cost $5. Bring a chair and a blanket (depending on the temperature) and plan to spend a beautiful evening under the stars.
Food and drinks will be available for purchase from Low-N-Slow Smoked Grub, and additional concessions will be provided by the AVFD. Upon arrival at the event, each guest will receive a lemonade, sweet tea, or water.
Parking will be at the Johnson Memorial United Methodist Church parking lot and the Old Greenbrier Baptist Church Parking Lot and along the street on the Monroe side of town. Trolleys will pick up all guests at these locations and will transport them to the Alderson Municipal Park. No cars will be allowed in the park. A limited number of handicapped accessible parking spaces are available in the park. Please contact 304-667-9493 for more information.
Fire Chief Lisa Vandall said, “We are so excited to bring this event to you! Organized fire protection services in Alderson date back to 1906, and we hope to keep them and the EMS going until at least 2106. We need your help, and this event is a way to reach out to you with a fun evening and raise money. See you there!”
To add to the day’s activities, the FPC Alderson Employees Club is hosting a car show from 12-4 p.m. at the Old Greenbrier Baptist Church Parking Lot.
