ALDERSON W.Va. (WVDN) – Creativity and community participation were evident in Alderson as groups and individuals decorated lampposts for the 4th Annual Fall Festival.
The winning creation is “Two Witches” by Rhonda Surgeon and Ruth Lephew. You can see this entry near the Alderson Artisans Gallery on Railroad Ave. Second place is “Take a Selfie With Me” by Samantha Baldwin and Girl Scout Troop 10523, which you can find on Riverview Ave, near Fruits of Labor Café. Third place “Bigfoot Meets William Tell,” was created by Old Greenbrier Baptist Church’s Centershot youth archery team. This creation can be found on Railroad Ave, opposite the Alderson Train Depot.
There are 13 other lampposts with interesting and creative decorations along Riverview and Railroad Avenues. There are special photo op displays at the mini-park near Camp Greenbrier, Alderson Memorial Bridge, Alumni Park, and the Train Depot, as well as other decorations throughout town. Come explore Alderson during the rest of October and see these wonderful works of art for yourself.
