FRANKFORD W.Va. (WVDN) – According to reports, multiple individuals allegedly called for a cave rescue in the Frankford area on Oct. 4. Emergency Services and specialized teams were called to the location.
According to a public statement from the Frankford Volunteer Fire Department, the call came in around 8:16 p.m. to a call for “one cave team with possible injuries 2,500 feet inside the cave.” The statement went on to say that three separate rescue teams made entry into the cave.
Multiple agencies responded and/or were called for assistance, including Frankford Volunteer Fire Department, White Sulphur Springs EMS, White Sulphur Springs Volunteer Fire Department, Lewisburg Fire Department, Blacksburg Cave Rescue Team and Greenbrier Grotto.
According to Frankford VFD, all involved were rescued successfully. The scene was cleared around 11:03 p.m.
No injuries have officially been reported.
