Oak Hill, W.Va. (WVDN) — New River Health (NRH), in partnership with the WVU Extension Service, is excited to announce Dining with Diabetes, a free community program beginning in October designed to help individuals manage and prevent diabetes while enjoying delicious, healthy food.
The four-session annual series will take place from 5:30–7:30 p.m. at New River Health, 497 Mall Road, Oak Hill, WV 25901, on:

This interactive in-person program is open to all community members, including pre-diabetics, caregivers, beginners, youth, adults and seniors—everyone is welcome.
What Participants Will Experience:
Hands-on cooking demonstrations led by health experts
Practical tips on eating well with diabetes
Guidance from NRH Pharmacist Karen Reed and Lauren Weatherford, families and community development agent with WVU Extension
Free cookbooks and educational materials
“Dining with Diabetes” is about empowering people to take control of their health in a fun, supportive way,” says Karen Reed. “Participants will not only learn how to prepare healthy meals but also enjoy the process of cooking and eating together as a community.”
