FAIRLEA- Greenbrier East had their best game of the season on Friday, Sept. 26 when they steamrolled the Oak Red Devils 45-7 to pick up their third Class AAAA win of 2025.
In the game, the Spartans racked up 426 yards of total offense and did so in a balanced fashion with 164 on the ground and 262 in the air.
For those efforts, and with it being extremely difficult to pick just one name, the entire offense is this week’s West Virginia Daily News Spartan offensive player(s) of the game for week five.
The offensive line was phenomenal and has been a strength so far this season as they helped pave the way for AJ Godfrey’s 97 yards and three TDs on 18 carries. Quarterback Brody Hamric went 19-of-24 for 262 yards and three scores, plus added 59 yards rushing as well. Grant Burdette (6 receptions, 86 yds, two TDs), Nate Suttle (5 catches, 95 yds, TD), and Jy Green (6 rec, 60 yds) also had big games.
All those players helped the Spartans build a 25-0 halftime lead that was never even close to being relinquished.
