CLEAR FORK- When the leaves begin to turn and the air cools, cross country season in West Virginia enters full swing. For the schools of Greenbrier County, the Westside Invitational has become a meaningful test — a chance for both Greenbrier East and Greenbrier West to measure their strength against regional competition and sharpen racing tactics before championships.
Meet Overview & Setting the Westside Invitational is held at the Westside High School cross-country course in Clear Fork, WV. The course, set in the hills of southern West Virginia, offers rolling terrain and demands strategic pacing — a proper mid-season barometer for teams across the region.
Though Greenbrier County runners often compete in other local invitationals, Westside draws a deeper, more varied field, making it a useful benchmarking meet for the Spartans and Cavaliers alike.
