Bare Knees
We always felt a prejudice against the native Scotch costume, because the kilties exposed to view in all its naked ugliness the most unlovely portion of the human body – the knee. How others feel about it, we don’t know, but we are for the first time ready to take a smash at modern fashion, if what we have seen recently has come into vogue. We refer to the gap between the rolled down stocking and the lowermost extremity
of the new flapper’s dress exposing in pristine ugliness the female knee in naked action. One can see better mechanics on
the drive wheels of a locomotive than the bellows-like action of the flapper’s knee joints.
