CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WVDN) — The West Virginia Division of Natural Resources (WVDNR) today announced a new start time for future meetings of the Natural Resources Commission (NRC) following the success of its first hybrid simulcast meeting and positive feedback received from the public.
The July 24 NRC meeting was the first to be offered as a statewide hybrid event, with in-person participation at all six district offices and a livestream for online viewers. The meeting has since been viewed more than 2,000 times on YouTube, reflecting strong public interest in hunting, fishing and wildlife management issues. The July 24 NRC meeting can be viewed online at youtube.com/@WVcommerce/streams.
Based on public comments received about the start time, the WVDNR will move future NRC meetings to 6 p.m. to make it easier for members of the public to participate.
“We are very pleased with the turnout for our first hybrid NRC meeting and encouraged by the increased public participation it generated,” said WVDNR Director Brett McMillion. “We also appreciate the feedback we’ve received about the start time and are glad to make this adjustment so more people can join the conversation about West Virginia’s hunting and trapping seasons and creel and bag limits.”
The next NRC meeting is scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 6. Members of the public who want to address the commission must attend one of the following in-person locations:
- District 1 – 1110 Railroad St, Farmington, WV 26571
