OAK HILL- The Greenbrier West Cavalier cross country team turned in an outstanding performance at the Oak Hill Invitational, with every runner setting a new personal record (PR).
It was a breakthrough day for the Cavaliers, showcasing both the team’s hard work in training and their growing confidence on the course. Leading the way for the Cavaliers was Jesse Walkup who delivered a gutsy race and lowered his best time. Close behind, Elijah Russell and Dominic Mandeville both continue to show consistency and steady improvement.
The Cavaliers’ depth was on full display as each runner dropped their times significantly, proving that progress is being made across all grade levels. For some, the PRs came in big chunks, marking clear milestones in their running careers.
Coach Walkup praised the effort, noting that the team has been pushing each other in practice and embracing the challenge of racing tough courses. The Oak Hill Invitational was no exception, and the Cavaliers rose to the occasion.
The Cavaliers will look to build on this momentum as they prepare for their next competition on Friday at Pipestem. With everyone trending upward, Greenbrier West is proving to be a team to watch this season.
