LOGAN, W.Va. (WVDN) — West Virginia State Parks officials announced today the opening of a new fully ADA-accessible playground at Chief Logan State Park, offering local families and park visitors an inclusive space for play and recreation.

“This new playground represents a significant step forward in making Chief Logan State Park more welcoming and inclusive for families in the region,” said West Virginia State Parks Acting Chief Dillard Price. “We’re proud to provide an opportunity for children of all abilities to play together and create lasting memories in West Virginia’s great outdoors.”

The new playground, which was built by Playground Specialist Inc., is designed for children ages 2-12 and includes a rock and rope climbing unit, a multi-slide play structure, swings with both ADA- and infant-accessible options as well as a specially designed wheelchair-accessible merry-go-round. The playground is located across from the park’s model locomotive and museum and can accommodate up to 24 children.
