FAIRLEA- Greenbrier East picked up a big 28-14 win over Woodrow Wilson on Friday night that has the community in a 100 percent football frenzy.
East controlled the game for the most part, particularly in the second half, but one unit controlled it from start to finish.
The entire offensive line played extremely well and is the WVDN’s pick for the Spartan Offensive Player(s) of the Game for week two.
The line gave quarterback Brody Hamric time to throw in the first half as he hit Kaden Stone for two TD passes. The unit really showed out midway through the fourth quarter after an interception by Logan Vanfosson gave the offense the ball back.
The offensive line paved the way for an 11-play, 73-yard drive and helped AJ Godfrey reach his second consecutive 100-yard game in as many weeks.
Coming into the season, the biggest question was, could the offensive line be a strength for the Spartans. So far, they have answered those questions with a resounding YES.
