BEAVER, W.Va. (WVDN) — New River Community and Technical College honored its first graduating class of Surgical Technology students during a pinning ceremony held Saturday, Aug. 30, at the Raleigh County Campus in Beaver.
The ceremony recognized eight students who successfully completed the program, the first cohort since the program launched at New River CTC. Family, friends, faculty and staff gathered at 10 a.m. to celebrate the milestone.
“Through the tough days and the laughter, we became more than classmates. We became a team, a support system and a family,” said class representative Alea Simms during the ceremony. She also thanked their instructor, Crystal Hodges, TS-C, for her guidance and encouragement throughout the program.
