New River CTC Recognizes 14 PTA Graduates During Pinning Ceremony

GHENT, W.Va. (WVDN) — New River Community and Technical College is registering students for its next Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) training session at the Advanced Technology Center in Ghent. 

The program will be offered in two parts:

  • CDL Learner’s Permit Prep: Sept. 2–3, 8 a.m.–4 p.m.
  • Participants must complete a DOT physical before the start date and have a test card to sit for the CDL learner’s permit exam at the end of the week.
  • CDL Class A Training: Begins Sept. 8, runs eight weeks, meeting Mondays–Wednesdays, 8 a.m.–4 p.m.
  • Training includes classroom instruction and behind-the-wheel experience.

Location: Advanced Technology Center, 527 Odd Road, Ghent

Cost: $4,135 (CDL Class A only) or $4,824 (with Learner’s Permit Prep)

Next session: Oct. 27

New River CTC offers accredited, career-focused training aligned with regional workforce needs, preparing students for in-demand jobs across southern West Virginia and beyond.
