WEST VIRGINIA (WVDN) – ZMM Architects and Engineers is proud to announce its commitment to a 2025 sponsorship of a scholarship supporting West Virginia’s Teacher of the Year in the Leadership West Virginia (Leadership WV) program. This scholarship allows the state’s top educator from the previous year to participate in the prestigious statewide leadership development program at no cost, with tuition and travel expenses fully covered.

ZMM’s commitment to Leadership West Virginia spans many years, including a longstanding sponsorship of the program’s education-focused session. This new initiative marks a meaningful expansion of that support by directly investing in the leadership journey of one of the state’s most impactful educators.

“Supporting the Teacher of the Year through Leadership West Virginia brings together two causes we care deeply about, public education and cultivating strong leadership across West Virginia,” said Adam Krason, CEO, Principal, and Architect at ZMM. “We’re proud to help elevate the voice and perspective of a top educator in conversations that shape the future of our state.”

Leadership West Virginia is a highly respected program that identifies, educates, and connects emerging leaders across the Mountain State. Participants engage in a series of immersive sessions focused on critical issues ranging from economic development to public health and education.

“We are incredibly grateful to ZMM Architects and Engineers for their continued commitment to Leadership West Virginia. Their generous support helps advance our mission: to grow, engage, and mobilize leaders who are passionate about moving West Virginia forward,” said Jen Willits, Executive Director at Leadership West Virginia. “We’re especially excited to welcome West Virginia’s Teacher of the Year into this journey. This scholarship represents more than just recognition – it ensures that the voice of a dedicated educator is included in the critical conversations shaping our state’s future.”

The 2025 Teacher of the Year scholarship ensures that a leading voice in K–12 education joins this influential statewide network, strengthening cross-sector collaboration and amplifying the role of educators in shaping West Virginia’s future.

“The education and business sectors must work together for the benefit of our children and our state,” said State Superintendent of Schools Michele L. Blatt. “We all know that teachers cannot do the job alone, and extended partnerships are crucial to identify and support the education and business needs of West Virginia. Not only is the Teacher of the Year an excellent ambassador, but they also offer insights that highlight the importance of public education. We appreciate ZMM and this scholarship opportunity because we believe it will help build the collaborative environment that will move our school communities and state forward in significant ways.”

ZMM is honored to partner with Leadership West Virginia and the West Virginia Department of Education on this important initiative.
