CHARMCO- As the Cavalier high school golf season tees off, a group of determined newcomers is making waves—bringing a mix of youthful ambition and senior leadership to the program.
This year’s team features a blend of fresh talent and first-time competitors, all united by one goal: to grow, compete, and make their mark in the postseason.
Two freshmen, Jak VanNatter and Cameron Weikle, are making the jump from the middle school golf program into the more competitive world of high school individual play. While they’ve previously competed as part of a team, this season marks a shift in focus as they take on the challenge of playing for personal scores and rankings. Both golfers are eager to elevate their game and gain valuable experience that will serve them well in the years to come.
On the other side of the roster, three seniors—Trey Franklin, Evan Bostic, and Kamden Sams—are stepping into competitive golf for the first time in their high school careers. Despite being new to tournament play, these upperclassmen bring maturity, leadership, and a strong work ethic to the team. Their shared goal? To qualify for regionals and hopefully earn a spot in the prestigious state tournament in Wheeling, West Virginia.
With a team dynamic that balances youthful promise with senior determination, this season promises to be one of growth, grit, and possibly, glory.
Whether it’s a freshman finding his rhythm or a senior chasing a final season dream, every player has something to prove, and a drive to make every round count.
The Cavaliers continue their season on the first day of school at Bridgehaven in Fayetteville.
