HINTON W.Va. (WVDN) – Leadership of the REACHH Family Resource Center and Child Advocacy Center at 409 Temple Street in Hinton, W.Va., invite the community to attend an 11 a.m. Monday, August 18, ribbon cutting / grand opening of Jo Ann’s Food Pantry.

This initiative is part of $650,000 in renovations of the REACHH facilities and food pantry from a federal grant Senator Shelley Moore Capito and Rep. Carol Miller supported through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).

Felisha Hartwell, executive director of REACHH FRC, said, “We have been busy here at REACHH with renovations – none more important than the food pantry to serve our community. We have had many people call and stop by to ask about food and pantry services.”

Lunch will follow the ceremony and then the pantry will be open to clients at 1 p.m.

“Our three historic buildings were in great need of multiple upgrades,” said Hartwell. “We added the food pantry to our request to Senator Capito and Representative Miller because of the urgent needs throughout Summers County. We are so appreciative of their support for the HUD grant.”

Hartwell said total drawdowns of the $650,000 HUD grant to date across all activities amount to $346,490.33. She said the renovation work for 409 Temple Street has now been completed. “We are making terrific progress and wanted to share our good fortune with the community and those who generously support us, as well as those we serve,” said Hartwell.
