LEWISBURG W.Va. (WVDN) — New River Community and Technical College will offer the 90-hour West Virginia Real Estate Pre-License course this fall at both its Greenbrier Valley and Mercer County campuses.

The Greenbrier Valley Campus course begins August 26, 2025, and will meet Tuesday through Thursday evenings from 6 to 9 p.m. The course will be taught by Tricia Hoover.

The Mercer County Campus course begins August 18, 2025, and will meet Monday through Wednesday evenings from 6 to 9 p.m. Instruction will be provided by Joyce Barker, a licensed West Virginia real estate instructor and broker.

The course is designed to prepare students to meet the educational requirements necessary to sit for the West Virginia Real Estate Licensing Exam. Topics include real estate principles, law, finance and practice—providing a solid foundation for those pursuing a career in real estate.

The cost for each course is $540, which includes the textbook. Financial aid may be available for eligible students through the Higher Education Adult Part-Time Student (HEAPS) Workforce Grant.

Those interested in enrolling are encouraged to register early, as space is limited.

To register, complete the Workforce Education form at www.newriver.edu/workforce-education-form.
