ALDERSON W.Va. (WVDN) – Alderson Main Street’s Open Mic at the Depot held its fourth open mic event of the season on a beautiful Saturday afternoon, August 2, at the historic 1896 C&O train depot in Alderson.

Event organizer and host Marcia Sutherland opened, then conducted two rounds of a mixture of blues, rock, country, folk, and jazz from nine other musicians. Audience members tapped their feet, clapped their hands, and sang along if they knew the song. Newcomers also had the chance to explore the depot and its artifacts and memorabilia.

The final event of the season will be Saturday, September 6, from 4 to 7 pm at the train depot, 111 Railroad Ave.

Marcia Sutherland said, “We welcome all family-friendly musicians and music. This is an informal, supportive group for musicians of all ages”.

For more information, look at Alderson Main Street’s Facebook page or contact Don
