HINES W.Va. (WVDN) – The Greenbrier County Sheriff’s Department provided an update on the Hines hit-and-run investigation on Wednesday, July 30. The following is their statement:
On July 27, 2025, at approximately 07:50 hours, the Greenbrier County Sheriff’s Office responded to the Hines area of Greenbrier County regarding the discovery of a deceased female. Preliminary observations at the scene indicate the individual was struck by a vehicle during the early morning hours of the same date.
The victim has been identified as 24-year-old Miranda Gray of Charmco, West Virginia. Her family has been notified.
The Greenbrier County Crime Scene Unit also responded and processed the scene as part of the ongoing investigation.
Following a fatal pedestrian strike on July 27, the Greenbrier County Sheriff’s Office, assisted by the West Virginia State Police (WVSP), has successfully located the suspect vehicle and driver. The vehicle was processed by the Greenbrier County Sheriff’s Crime Scene Team.
The family of the deceased female victim, identified as Miranda Gray of Charmco, Greenbrier County, West Virginia, has been notified.
The Sheriff’s Office would like to extend its gratitude to the community for its assistance and cooperation.
