Born September 30, 1984, in Tallahassee, FL, Faheem Rashad Najm, better known as T-Pain, is a rapper that changed the industry back in the mid 2000’s.
His first big hit, ‘I’m Sprung’ featured auto tune which made Najm’s voice pop in a way not many had heard before and the song hit the top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 and received platinum certification.
That was about all it took to put T-Pain on the national map and from that point on his songs seemed to peak high on the charts and he became one of the most well know rap artists in the world.
Hits like ‘I’m in Luv, Bartender, and Buy You a Drank,’ all became worldwide hits played on repeat over and over.
As popular as T-Pain became as a single artist, it was/is his guests spots on other artists songs that may actually give him even more notoriety. Some of those songs include ‘Shawty’ by Plies, ‘Good Life’ by Kanye West, ‘Blame It’ by Jamie Foxx, and Flo-rida’s ‘Low.’
However, in today’s world, especially at sporting events, T-Pain’s most popular song might be ‘All I Do is Win,’ which is played at many arenas and fields when the home team wins in any major sport.
T-Pain was recently praised earlier this year for his superior performance at Coachella, a huge music festival that celebrates the art and music culture. It put an end to the thought that he may be fading a little bit in his career, but the singer/songwriter/producer proved that he is still one of the biggest talents in the business. The Coachella performance can be seen on YouTube.
One thing working in T-Pain’s favor is that he performs the very first night of the fair, August 7. He will fire up the crowd and get them excited about the full week that will follow at the fairgrounds. Also, being the first concert and a big name to boot is sure to draw a huge crowd. The first Thursday should be an extremely exciting evening.
