Rising country artist Wyatt Flores is set to take the grandstand stage at the State Fair of West Virginia this August, bringing his heartfelt lyrics and red dirt roots to fairgoers in the Mountain State. Flores, 24, will perform Wednesday, Aug. 13, at 8 p.m.
Born and raised in Stillwater, Oklahoma, Flores grew up surrounded by music. His father was a drummer, and the local red dirt music scene heavily influenced his sound. He often cites the Turnpike Troubadours and The Great Divide as early inspirations.
Flores began writing songs as a teenager and built a loyal following through grassroots touring and streaming success. His breakout single “Please Don’t Go,” cracked Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart in late 2023, paving the way for his full-length debut album, “Welcome to the Plains,” released last fall.
His honest, soul-baring songwriting touches on themes of mental health, self-discovery and life on the road. After stepping back from touring earlier this year to focus on his well-being, he returned to the stage this spring with renewed energy.
Known for his electric live shows, Flores recently released “Live at Cain’s Ballroom,” which is a live album capturing the raw spirit of his performances and the close connection he has with fans.
