GREENBRIER COUNTY W.Va. (WVDN) – A Draft Comprehensive Plan update has been prepared for public comment. The Draft Comprehensive Plan for Greenbrier County will be presented to the public by the Greenbrier County Planning Commission at a Community Open House meeting to be held on Wednesday, August 6, at 3 p.m. in the County Commission Courtroom located at 912 Court Street N, in Lewisburg. The event will be livestreamed on the County Courthouse Facebook page for members of the public who are not able to attend.
The Comprehensive Plan is our community’s expression of its goals and aspirations with regard to land use patterns and community assets. Greenbrier County last updated its Comprehensive Plan in October of 2014.
A public hearing to be held on August 27 will allow for public comment on the Draft Comprehensive Plan. In the meantime, written public comments regarding the Draft Comprehensive Plan may be submitted in writing to: The Greenbrier County Planning Commission, 912 Court St. N., Lewisburg, WV 24901. The public hearing allowing for public comment will be held on August 27, beginning at 3 p.m. in the Greenbrier County Courthouse located at 912 Court Street N in Lewisburg.
Following the public input process, the Greenbrier County Planning Commission will consider whether to recommend adoption of the Comprehensive Plan to the Greenbrier County Commission, which will also conduct its own public hearing on the matter.
The Draft Comprehensive Plan will be available for review beginning on August 7, in the Greenbrier County Courthouse or public libraries in Greenbrier County and by visiting the county website at: www.greenbriercounty.net.
