CHARLESTON W.Va. (WVDN) – The Public Service Commission of West Virginia has scheduled a virtual and in-person public comment hearing and an evidentiary hearing on a proposed $71.6 million annual increase in Expanded Net Energy Cost (ENEC) rates for Appalachian Power and Wheeling Power Company customers.
The public comment hearing will begin at 5:30 p.m. on August 11, and the evidentiary hearing will begin the following day at 9:30 a.m., continuing through August 13, if necessary. Both hearings will be held at PSC headquarters, 201 Brooks St., Charleston.
Those who wish to participate in the public comment hearing should register with the Commission by 4 p.m. on August 8. The companies filed for the increase in April. If approved, the average residential customer would see an increase of $5.31, or 3.03 percent.
