Clyde Franklin “Rusty” Judy
Clyde Franklin “Rusty” Judy, 89, of Williamsburg, WV, passed away on July 26, 2025, at the Beckley VA Medical Center.
Rusty was born in Cornstalk, WV, to the late Sheldon and Adeline Judy. He married the love of his life, Mary Sue Ramsey, on June 23, 1963, and together they built a life full of love, laughter, and family.
A proud veteran, Rusty served in the United States Army from 1959 to 1962 and was stationed in Korea. After his military service, he worked as a plumber for the Greenbrier County Board of Education. Even after retirement, he kept busy, driving delivery trucks for 84 Lumber and Harvest Equipment, until the age of 70.
Rusty was a true outdoorsman — a skilled hunter and fisherman who spent many memorable seasons at the Turkey Buck Lodge. He could fix or build just about anything and was most often found on one of his lawnmowers in later years, puffing on his ever-present pipe.
He never met a stranger. Rusty loved sharing stories — especially about hunting, his time in Korea, and his adventures in Alaska. Though he may not have heard every word you said, he certainly enjoyed the company and the conversation.
Rusty was a man of strong Christian faith and a lifelong member of the church. He lived out his values through kindness, hard work, and devotion to his family. His faith gave him strength, and he was always quick to remind others of the importance of doing good and helping where you can.
He is survived by his children, Keith Judy (Tammy) of Williamsburg and Karen Judy Simms (William “Rus”) of South Carolina; his beloved grandchildren, Augusta, Blake, Abbi, Sunny, Katlyn, Janet, and Trace; and special family, Crystal Ortiz, Kalianna Campbell, Layla, and Desmond Booth.
He was preceded in death by his sisters, Shelby Judy Cremeans and Sharelle Judy Renick; as well as his brothers-in-law, Pat Cremeans and Benny Renick.
Funeral service will be 12 p.m. Saturday, August 2, 2025, at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Lewisburg, with Rev. Denver Tiller officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in the Judy Oaks Cemetery, Williamsburg, WV.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Saturday.
