Sharon Lee Hatton White

Sharon Lee Hatton White, 83, of Lewisburg, WV, passed away on July 22, 2025, at the Peyton Hospice House in Fairlea, WV.

Sharon was born on July 22, 1942, to Roy K. Hatton and Roberta A. Hatton at St. Mary’s Hospital in Huntington, WV. She graduated from Marshall University in 1964 with a double major in Library Science and English and later earned a Master’s degree in Education for the Gifted from West Virginia State in Institute, WV.

Sharon married Frank on March 28, 1964, shortly before earning her undergraduate degrees from Marshall University and, upon graduating from Marshall, she accepted a position as a librarian for two Kentucky elementary schools. She then moved to Chicago and was a claims adjuster for Travelers Insurance. She then returned to West Virginia and embarked on her main career, as a teacher, for the next 30 years, starting as the librarian for White Sulphur Springs High School and then proceeding to teach Gifted Education and English at the secondary level. She also worked as a real estate agent and spent time being a stay-at-home mother.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, Roy K. Hatton and Roberta A. Humphreys Hatton; her brother, Roy Randolph; and her infant daughters, Lisa Suzanne and Michelle Marie.

Left to cherish her memories is her husband, Frank of 61 years; daughter, Katrina (Michael); and granddaughter, Olivia Nichols.

There will be no viewing or visitation. A celebration of life will be planned for a later date.
