LEWISBURG, W.Va. (WVDN) – The State Fair of West Virginia is set to celebrate its 100th anniversary from August 7-16, 2025, promising an expanded array of entertainment, agricultural showcases, and family-friendly activities.

Beyond the main concerts, the fair offers a wide range of daily attractions:
Sea Lion Splash: Featuring sea lions performing tricks and dances.
Swifty Swine Racing Pigs: Pigs race for an Oreo cookie prize, reaching speeds of 15 mph.
The Moogician: A dairy-themed magic show with “magical cow-medy”.
Catherine Hickland Comedy Hypnosis: An entertaining and family-friendly comedic hypnosis show.
Hot Glass Academy: Live glassblowing demonstrations.
Oregon Trail Display: An interactive campsite display demonstrating life on the 1849 Oregon Trail and the importance of oxen.
Farm Credit Dairy Birthing Center: Offers the chance to witness the live birth of calves.
Farm to Food Pavilion: Provides agricultural education for children in grades K-5.
TAHOE Antique Tractors: A display by a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving farm machinery history.
Fiber Arts Network: Daily demonstrations and instruction on various fiber arts like weaving, spinning, and fiber processing.

August 8 (Governor’s Day): Features performances by Chance and Tessa McCoy, and Chad Nickel and The Loose Change.
August 9: Includes Youth Barrels & Poles, Youth Show, and High School & Youth Rodeo25. Fireworks display at 10:30 PM.
August 10 (11th Annual Car Show): Takes place on the Main Grounds from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Also includes a Church Service at the UScellular Center Stage.
August 11 (Community in Schools Supply Drive): Bring three different school or hygiene supplies for reduced admission and carnival rides29. This day also features the Next Big Fair Food Contest 30and an Unclaimed Property Auction.
August 14 (WV Day): A celebration of the fair’s 100th anniversary.
August 15: Draft Horse Pull at the Grandstand at 9:00 AM and a special drone show at 10:00 PM.
August 16: Fireworks at 10:30 PM.
General Information:
Gates open daily at 8:00 AM and close at 11:00 PM36. Carnival rides operate from 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM37. The West Virginia Building will host cooking demonstrations, home, arts, and garden competitions, food contests, kid activities, and crafts daily from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM38.
Ticketing Information:
Advance Discount Price (June 1 – July 28 at noon): Adult Gate Admission (ages 11+) is $10.00. Mega Pass (11 AM – 11 PM every day) is $30.00 + tax. Carnival Ride Ticket Sheets (15 tickets) are $10.00 + tax.
Fair Week Price (Starting July 28 at midnight): Adult Gate Admission is $15.00.
Children 10 and under receive free admission every day.
