WILLIAMSBURG W.Va. (WVDN) – The Goodson Boys will be performing at the Williamsburg Community Fair on Saturday, July 26, from 7 to 9 p.m. The Goodson Boys come from a deeply musical family in southern West Virginia. Their love for music started early. Mom and Dad had a gospel band, and two older brothers were already playing and singing. Willie and Randy were singing in church at a very young age, learning the power of harmony and heartfelt music.
In 1988, they started making music of their own. That year, Willie picked up an acoustic guitar and Randy got his first Telecaster. That’s when The Goodson Boys really began their journey.
Since then, they’ve played countless gigs with all kinds of musicians, covering a wide range of musical styles. While their foundation is firmly planted in classic country and Southern gospel, The Goodson Boys adapt their setlist to fit the venue, always keeping it authentic and crowd-pleasing.
Joining Willie and Randy is their oldest brother Mike, who can “walk the dog” on bass like nobody’s business, and Mike Zimmerma,n known as “Z,” keeps the rhythm tight and smooth behind the drum kit.
Whether it’s an intimate church service, a lively honky-tonk, or anything in between, The Goodson Boys bring heartfelt music, rich harmonies, and a lifetime of experience to every stage they step on.
