PRINCETON W.Va. (WVDN) – The Southern District of the West Virginia Daughters of the American Revolution met July 12 in Princeton for its annual meeting. Vice Regents Suzanne Cronquist and Judy Deegans represented the General Andrew Lewis Chapter.
The Chapter and its members won numerous awards. The Lineage Research Committee of the DAR recognized Sandra Cowan for her outstanding service as the Chapter Registrar. A Certificate of Appreciation and a lovely pin were given to Deborah Phillips for her outstanding and dedicated service as an officer to the Southern District.
The General Andrew Lewis Chapter was recognized as a sustaining supporter for ten consecutive years. The Chapter was given a Blue Ribbon for the Chapter Achievement Awards, and the Membership Committee was given the Discover Treasured Gems Award. In addition, the Membership Committee received the “Sparkle More in ’24” award.
A Memorial Service was conducted, and General Andrew Lewis Chapter Member Lynn Brody was remembered. Vice Regent Judy Deegans cited Brody’s dedication to historical preservation and her love of Lewisburg. Brody had been a member of the Chapter since 2004.
