GREENBRIER COUNTY W.Va. (WVDN) – The General Andrew Lewis Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution was pleased and honored to welcome West Virginia State Regent Jane Larke to the June meeting. Regent Larke presented the Chapter with the National Literacy Promotion Award. This special award is in honor of the efforts of the Chapter to promote literacy in Greenbrier County.
The meeting was called to order by Regent Suzanne Cronquist. The meeting was held in the Tavern Room of the North House Museum which is the home of the Greenbrier Historical Society.
Following the meeting, Hostesses Sissie Isaac and Ruth Sturgill served tasty cookies and drinks. Those attending were State Regent Jane Larke of Morgantown, Nancy Greenstreet, Doris Kasley, Marit Withrow, Carol Olson, Judy Deegans, Suzanne Cronquist, Ruth Sturgill, Sissie Isaac, Barb Hiltner, Beverly Boxwell, Jodie Nidey, Addie Goodrich, Sally Bray, Mimi DeOlloqui and new associate member, Jamie Gates.
Following the meeting and refreshments, the attendees were divided into two groups for tours of the North House Museum. The tours generated rave reviews with many questions.
