LEWISBURG- On Saturday, July 5, the Greenbrier GOP held an ‘America First, Rally for America’ in the greenspace in downtown Lewisburg.
With the sound of car and truck horns honking from start to finish, some music playing over the loudspeaker, and chants of USA..USA, the rally was full of positivity and peacefulness during the two-hour stay of which around 65-70 people attended.
Greenbrier Republican Party chairman Ben Anderson said the rally was put together to express love for America during the July 4 weekend.
“We are gathered to have an American Patriot rally. We are having a great time together. It’s a gathering of those who love our country, love God, love America, want to see America prosper, want to see America be safe again, and want to make America great again,” Anderson said.
After the hit ‘Country Roads’ played in the background, the state’s executive director of the Republican Party, Ryan Jacinto, said the following.
We have Greenbrier County residents showing support for our nation, coming out here and showing they are true patriots, standing in unison, and just showing love for our country, so God bless you all and Happy fourth.”
Several attendees waved the American flag while others just waved and spoke to people as they walked and drove by before wrapping the event up in the early afternoon hours.
