FAIRLEA W.Va. (WVDN) – The Greenbrier County Sheriff’s Office released the following statement regarding the recent felony arrest in Fairlea:
“On Monday, June 30, 2025, Deputies with the Greenbrier County Sheriff’s Office responded to the residence of 191 Wykle Street in Fairlea in reference to a warrant service. Jorge Elpido Erazo-Jimenez was wanted for felony Malicious Wounding and misdemeanor Domestic Battery. After speaking with multiple neighbors, as well as Jorge’s sister, who also resides at the residence, we confirmed that Jorge was seen entering the residence and had not left. After making multiple announcements in English and Spanish, Jorge refused to open the door of the residence. Forced entry was then made to the residence, and Jorge had locked himself in the master bedroom of the residence. Once the bedroom door was open, Jorge would not present his hands as instructed. Due to Jorge not following instructions, he was decentralized to the ground by deputies to safely effect the arrest. Jorge continued to resist by tensing his arms and not allowing deputies to handcuff him. Jorge was then handcuffed and transported to Greenbrier Valley Medical Center for medical clearance. He was then transported to Southern Regional Jail for his active warrants, as well as an additional charge for Obstructing an Officer. It was also learned that Jorge had been deported back to Honduras in 2016 and had no legal immigration status in the United States. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) agents were contacted and a detainer was sent to Southern Regional Jail for them to hold Jorge until DHS can follow up with his citizenship.”
