LEWISBURG W.Va. (WVDN) – The David Yarid Memorial Scholarship, administered by the Greenbrier Valley Community Foundation, was awarded to Haley Workman, a 2025 Greenbrier East High School graduate. Haley plans to attend Marshal University to study finance and marketing with an emphasis on sales.

The David E. Yarid Scholarship Fund was established in 1989 to honor the memory of David Yarid, a young businessman in the prime of his life. The scholarship also honors the Yarid family, who have been prominent in the local business community for many years.

The scholarship is for $500 each year for four years to a graduating senior at Greenbrier East High School who demonstrates outstanding achievement in the field of business and who plans to pursue a college education in this field. The recipient is chosen by the faculty of the business department of Greenbrier East High School.
