CHARLESTON- Playing in his last hoorah football game to end his Greenbrier West career, the Cavaliers’ Brandon Poticher was on the field in Charleston last weekend for the North-South Football Classic.
In the second quarter with his South team leading 6-0, the North Bears lined up for a field goal to try and get points on the scoreboard before the first half ended.
But Poticher had other ideas.
The Greenbrier West graduate exploded through the line and blocked the kick, which his teammate, Jeffrey King, picked up and raced 84 yards the other way for a touchdown. That score made it 13-0 at halftime.
The South ended up holding on to win the game 29-22 and Poticher’s play was one of the biggest highlights of the day.
