WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS W.Va. (WVDN) – Main Street White Sulphur Springs held the West Virginia Dandelion Festival Art Show at the White Sulphur Springs Public Library on Friday, May 23. Thirty-two adult entries by seventeen talented artists were displayed in eight categories.
The following award winners were announced at the show:

Mixed Media: First place: Mellie Hanna “Charleigh”
Second place: Richard Wiant: “Nightmare”
Oils: First place: John Telisko “Four Mile Fork”
Second place: Shelby Oreolt: “The River Runs Through It”
Pastels: First place: Brenda Lewis “Lone Tree”
Textile: First place: Roxette Busani: “Purple Mountain Majesty”
Second Place: Joann Hartzell: “The Storyteller”
Third Place: Joann Hartzell: “Who’s Hungry”
Water Color: First place: MJ Oref: “Ruby II”
Second place: Shelby Oreolt: “Lilly Beauty”
Third place: Marietta Lyall: Memories of Sea World
The judges awarded MJ Oref’s “Ruby II” the Best-of-Show ribbon because of her creative composition, crisp colors and artistic decisions.
The art show accepted 30 applications from juvenile artists in 6th & 7th grades and received entries from several talented budding artists. First Place and Honorable mentions are listed below.

People choice awards were awarded to Marietta Lyall’s “Golden Boy” and Bryer Callison’s acrylic art work.
