Susan Marie Gallagher

Susan Marie Gallagher, aged 57, passed on Monday, May 12, in Ashburn, VA.

Susie was born on October 31, 1967, at Clifton Forge Hospital in Clifton Forge, VA, to parents William and Esther Wilson – their 7th child. She grew up in White Sulphur Springs, WV, and graduated from Greenbrier East High School in 1985. She then attended Radford University in Radford, VA, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1989 with a degree in Computer Science.

After graduating college, Susie moved to the Washington, DC, metro area, where she began working at Electronic Data Systems (EDS) and met her husband to be, Tuan Anh Gallagher. They were married on November 11, 2000, and in 2003, welcomed their first son, Ryan, followed in 2006 by their second son, Jackson.

Susie enjoyed hiking the West Virginia and Virginia mountains, traveling around the US and abroad with her family, and volunteering at a local animal shelter. She also loved watching her boys’ martial arts competitions and was proud of their academic achievements too!

Predeceased by her parents, William and Esther Wilson; and siblings, Kathleen, Joan, and Barbara.

Susie is survived by her loving husband of 25 years and recent caregiver, Tuan Anh Gallagher; her beloved sons, Ryan and Jackson Gallagher; siblings, Robert Wilson, Peter Wilson, and RuthAnn Wilson-Doherty; also her brother-in-law, Philip Doherty, and nephews, Joseph and Nicholas, plus sister-in-law, Judith Del Toro with her husband, Peter, and niece and nephew, Mia and Frankie.

Susie was a woman of authenticity – never one to be anything other than herself. She was a very kind person and found peace among animals and nature. She endured many challenges until the last one of poor health proved too much.
Though Susie has left this world, her impact remains – she is etched into the hearts of her family, where she will be forever loved and remembered.

Graveside services will be held June 14, 2025, at 11 a.m. at the Mt. Loretto Cemetery in White Sulphur Springs, WV.
