PIPESTEM W.Va. (WVDN) – On May 19, the Pipestem Peaks Zipline Tours opened for the summer season. Adventure awaits excitement-seekers at Pipestem State Park, where the guided tours take small groups down the mountainside. Adventurers on the zipline tour enjoy the beautiful views as they soar down the course, reaching speeds up to 50 miles per hour. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Every day during the summer is an opportunity to experience the breathtaking views of the Bluestone Gorge as you fly through the treetops on a state-of-the-art zipline course. The zipline is open to adventurers aged 10+ who weigh between 100 and 250 pounds.

The tour lasts 3.5 hours and consists of 9 different ziplines that cross the Bluestone Gorge three times. Two professional guides accompany a group of 8 guests while following the highest safety standards in the industry. The guides are well-versed in the natural wonders of the area and enjoy sharing stories with the group during the tour.

“The Pipestem Peaks zipline tour is the thrill of a lifetime while also being informative and scenic,” states Michael Buechler, CEO of Pipestem Adventures. “Come enjoy the incredible views Pipestem State Park has to offer while crossing over the Bluestone Gorge three separate times at heights in excess of 300 feet in the air. Our world class guide staff will educate you on the area’s floral and fauna while safely navigating you through our canopy tour and creating lifelong memories.”

An array of fun activities is available to visitors at Pipestem. Visitors can enjoy skeet shooting, mini golf, family float trips on the New River, and horseback riding. Also, the popular Adventure Lake and Splash Park at Pipestem are now open. Both kids and adults can enjoy the giant inflatable mountains, slides, and trampolines that launch them into the lake. Mom and Dad can sit on our beach in a lounge chair, soaking up the sun after playing with the kids. For the little ones, the Splash Park and Kids’ Zone features 18 splash features where they can slide and run around through numerous spraying flowers, circles, and animals.

Pipestem’s newly renovated McKeever Lodge provides ideal lodging for those who want to make a multi-day vacation at the park. Among the premium amenities is the new Mountain Serenity Spa, where visitors can relax and rejuvenate.

Reservations for Pipestem Peaks Zipline Tours are now available by calling 1-833-WV-Parks (1-833-987-2757) or visiting wvstateparks.com or using the link wvstateparks.com/things-to-do/aerial-tours/pipestem-peaks/. Reservations are required to secure preferred tour times.
