BECKLEY W.Va. (WVDN) – On May 20, 2025, at 6:49 p.m., officers from the Beckley Police Department and firemen from the Beckley Fire Department were dispatched to the Freedom Skate Park, 306 N. Eisenhower Drive for a missing juvenile male with autism whom had wandered away from his mother. Officers established a perimeter and a zone to begin searching based on the location the juvenile was last observed by family members.
Beckley PD Officers requested the assistance of the Raleigh County Sheriff’s Office with a bloodhound while members of the Beckley Fire Department deployed a Drone to search the area.
The Fireman piloting the Drone quickly zeroed in on the location of the missing juvenile, while Deputy Chief Allard directed officers toward him. Cpl. Sweetser with the Beckley Police Department and a Deputy from the Raleigh County Sheriff’s Office located the juvenile from the directions provided. The juvenile was transported by JanCare Ambulance to a local hospital for evaluation as a precaution.
