LEWISBURG, W.Va. — Lewisburg Mayor Beverly White recently experienced a simulated caving challenge, trying out the Greenbrier Grotto’s “squeeze box.”
This specially designed apparatus mimics the tight passages that cavers sometimes encounter while exploring caves. The squeeze box is adjustable, allowing for variations in height to simulate different constrictions.
Mayor White’s participation offered a glimpse into the physical demands and spatial awareness required for cave exploration.
The Greenbrier Grotto often uses the squeeze box for training and outreach, demonstrating the unique challenges and skills involved in the hobby of caving.
