BECKLEY W.Va. (WVDN) — West Virginia’s own Matt Mullins & The Bringdowns are back with Learn From Letting Go. A brand-new album dropping June 5th, 2025, on all major streaming platforms. That’s right — ten fresh tracks full of soul, grit, and the kind of honest reflection you can only get from “a group of hillbillies that must have some brains in them heads”.
This record is the band’s most personal to date — a raw and lyrical trip through time, place, and the beauty found in things that aren’t quite perfect. It’s y’allternative dad rock at its most emotional — equal parts wit, wisdom, and the occasional raised eyebrows.
“We just wanted to tell some real stories and maybe help folks feel a little less alone in their own mess,” says frontman Matt Mullins. “There’s something powerful in realizing you’re not the only one winging it.”
To celebrate the new release, the band is throwing two release parties (Vinyl & CD’s will be on hand for the first time!) — and everyone’s invited:
-
Thursday, June 5th at Folklore Music Exchange in Charleston, WV — Doors at 7 PM
-
Friday, June 6th at Weathered Ground Brewery in Cool Ridge, WV — Doors at 4 PM, Show at 6 PM
Learn From Letting Go will be available for streaming and download on Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music — you know, all the usual suspects.
