Milton, W.Va. (WVDN) – On Thursday, April 17th, 2025, at 7:12 am, members of the Huntington Detachment and Cabell County Sheriff’s Department responded to the area of Milton Elementary School in reference to a Milton P.D. Officer that had been struck by a passing motorist. Initial investigation determined that the officer was on the roadway to stop traffic for incoming bus traffic. A passing motorist struck Officer Ian Galloway and immediately stopped and remained on scene. The driver was cooperative, and no impairment was observed by Troopers. At this time, it is not believed the school zone lights had been activated yet for the morning. The officer was transported to Cabell Huntington Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

This investigation is ongoing, and Troopers will consult with The Cabell County Prosecuting Attorney to determine if charges will be filed in this matter.
